    While some towns have a brawling political style, Ocean City tends to keep on the kid gloves even in hotly contested races. That changed Monday, when a candidate accused members of council by name of being pawns of the mayor and the mayor of being indebted to developers.

    Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, Atlantic City Fire and Police departments, State Police Marine Services Bureau and the Civil Air Patrol gathered Tuesday at Bader Field to take part in a simulated harbor fire and oil spill using drones.

    Sea Isle City's new, $1 million dog park will open to the public at 3 p.m. Saturday at Seventh Street and Landis Avenue as part of the city's Community Day celebration.

    Crews continued the demolition of the former 34th Street Market in Ocean City on Tuesday. Plans are for new condominiums at the site, with retail development on the first floor.

    Seaspray condominium board member Dave Buckwalter responded in detail to a previous story about the condo near 34th Street in Ocean City, which the city has declared unfit for occupation for the second time in two years. He said repair costs would be far lower than the estimates presented by a group of owners who want to demolish, and cited a report that presented a far rosier picture of the building’s condition.
